Announcing the 21st Joseph Mubiru Memorial Lecture

Bank of Uganda is organizing the 21st Joseph Mubiru Memorial Lecture which will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Kampala International Conference Centre at the Kampala Serena Hotel, starting at 2.00pm. The Guest Speaker is Hon. Trevor Manuel, South Africa’s Minister for the Presidency in charge of the National Planning Commission.

Hon. Manuel was South Africa’s Minister of Finance between 1996 and 2009, during the presidencies of Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe. In 1997, Euromoney named him African Finance Minister of the Year. Throughout the last decade, he has served at various national and international financial institutions including the Development Bank of South Africa, the African Development Bank, IMF and the World Bank.

Bank of Uganda holds the Joseph Mubiru memorial public lectures annually in memory of the first Governor Bank of Uganda, Joseph Mary Mubiru (R.I.P.)
